Understanding Japanese Culture and Society through Movies

This essay requires you to select a a Japanese movie and write a thesis statement based on it. You would need to write 3 to 4 arguments and use reference and quotes from the movie to elaboration and explain your view point. Please bear in mind that this is not a movie review. You have to come up a thesis which is in relations to Japanese culture. There are several topics you can choose to talk about. 2. Attached please find the course outline. Under the course schedule, you can see there are big topics (eg. Selfishness, Death, Love), these are topics you can select from to come up your thesis statement. Under the learning resources, there is the recommended list of the reading. You may have to check for reference on specific Japanese culture concepts and discuss the topic from Japanese point of view instead of your own culture. 3. Please write an outline first for the essay and then start to work on it.
