Find an example of a company that has either been affected by an ethical or environmental issue created by
others, or has created such an issue. The issue may have been created by company management, company
employee(s), a supplier, government officials, or other stakeholders. This should be a situation where the
company is headquartered in one country, but the issue arose in another country. Some typical examples include
unsafe products, unethical labor practices or violations of labor laws, environmental damage, financial misconduct,
or demands by government officials for bribes. Other types of examples are possible.
Write a paper, based on secondary source research, that explains what happened and why it happened. What
stakeholders were involved and how did they react Describe and evaluate the actions of the company. Finally,
make recommendations to other companies. What should they do to avoid this type of situation or handle it in an
ethical and/or environmentally sound manner
Use at least four sources for this paper. You may need more than four sources to do a good job. Use at least two
sources that were not published by any company involved in this situation.
Write your paper in APA or MLA style. Use the 12point Times New Roman font, and use 1inch margins on all
sides. The body of this paper must be 2 3 typed double spaced pages. The Works Cited section does not count
toward the length of the paper. If you think that you need more than three pages, please consult the professor.
Submit the paper to Turnitin. The similarity index must be 25% or less. State as much information as possible in
your own words. Do not use quotations, or nearquotations, unless they are absolutely necessary.

Use the most current material that is relevant to your topic. As a general rule, business environment information
should not be more than five years old.

analyses, term paper or homework help Web sites, or any Web site where you cannot identify either the author
or the publisher of the information that you are using. If you use a blog or opinion piece as a source, explain the
qualifications of the author to write about this topic. You are responsible for judging the reliability of your sources.
Note: If you use material from the Web site of a company, government agency, intergovernmental organization
(United Nations, European Union, etc.), nonprofit organization, industry association, news media, or university,
that organization is the publisher of the material.
Papers and presentations submitted for this course must not duplicate work that you have submitted for any other
undergraduate or graduate course, no matter where the course was taken. If the issue, companies, or country
that you discuss are related to any paper or presentation that you have submitted for another course, email a
copy of that paper or presentation to me when you submit your topic for approval. Failure to do so will be treated
as a violation of Winthrop’s Code of Student Conduct.
