Details of the NGO that I participated:

The organization’s role is to provide training to a selected group of teenagers and young adults diagnosed as ‘persons with learning disabilities’ (PLD’ s). PLDs does not mean that their total being is disabled. Their intellectual capacity maybe limited but they do have other skills and aptitudes which can enable them to perform in the employment field in making them valued employees. The main purpose of this organization is to train these PLD’s with basic job skills to enable them to eventually enter the employment world, on either a full-time or part time basis.

 

Details of the volunteering that I have done (in 10 weeks):

Facilitated learning for “’persons with learning disabilities” including those with Down’s Syndrome, using Arithmetic Lessons, Grammar Lessons,Drawing and Colouring, and a game to let the participants to understand the role and concepts of money and profit.

understanding of self, others, and unit learning goals/materials (management

Structure/Expression:

refers to the extent to which the reflective writing is clear,

concise, and well organised with a structured paragraph construction. Thoughtsare expressed in a coherent and logical manner.

Word limit: 600 (+/- 10%)

Excessive word count beyond this acceptable range shall result in a reduction of 2 marks.

Presentation requirements: Your assignment should be

Word processed, Times New Roman, size 11 font, 2.5cm margin on all sides, 1.5 spaced, margins for paragraphs should be fully aligned, double-sided printing, pages numbered accordingly and spaced between paragraphs.
