The critical synthesis papers
The critical synthesis papers will consist of a reflection across all of the readings
assigned for a particular week, drawing connections and making distinctions between these readings and reflecting on their significance to the field of management theory and practice. You will submit one critical synthesis paper per module – you can pick any of the three weeks covered in the module. Each submission should be limited to 4-5 double-spaced pages. These reviews are not merely a summary of the articles. While you may find it useful to summarize each paper to prepare your paper, a synthesis allows you to tell the reader what you think is important about the readings. It requires you to highlight what is important about the readings, identify the patterns, make connections and note differences across the readings, and discuss the main contributions to research and practice.
