This is an individual research assignment or can be done in pairs. The assignment can be based on any relevant Human Resources Management (HRM) issue where students develop skills that they will be able to apply to the workplace. Some examples are below. Option 1 Students can conduct a job analysis on a job of their choice using one of the methods in the textbook to aid in the creation of a job specification and job description for a company of their choice. Option 2 Students can develop a policy based on one of the most recent changes to employment legislation. The students critique and analyze the policy and program in relation to the HRM, and the criteria discussed in text. Strengths and weaknesses of the policy and program are discussed with detailed recommendations for improvements to reflect a higher priority and accountability to HRM, and to minimize legal liability.
