Students should produce an essay. You have been provided with the scenario below. You will be asked to design an intervention study that includes an evaluation plan. The assignment should draw on evidence throughout and critically explain the decision making process.
The report should contain an introduction and rationale to explain the health relevance of the intervention, then work through the methods and evaluation plan. You should then discuss any strengths and limitations of the proposed design in a discussion section. You should provide supporting evidence to justify your decisions when planning the intervention and evaluation work and carefully consider the stakeholders involved.
Scenario. “The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence [NICE] has recently identified workplaces as being important settings to promote good health. NICE are particularly concerned about the amount of time office workers spend sitting down every day and as a result the National Institute for Health Research [NIHR] is inviting proposals for projects that aim to reduce the amount of sitting time in office settings.”
