As an optional assignment, students may submit the following assignment. This assignment is related to developing the skill of deriving information from a text. The following is the procedure for completing the assignment: (1) Go to the Wright Library and request a copy of the periodical, The Bible Today. The collection of issues of The Bible Today are held on reserve behind the charging desk. (2) Select one article from the Old Testament. Please be attentive to the article you select. The Bible Today contains articles from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Each issue is dedicated to either the Old Testament or the New Testament. If you are unsure as to whether the article you have selected is an Old Testament or a New Testament, consult the Table of Contents in your Bible. All the books of the Bible are listed there under the classification Old Testament or New Testament. If you are still unsure, ask one of the librarians for assistance. (3) Once you have selected your article, you are to read the article, summarize the content of the article in your own words, and state what you have learned from the article. There is a Rubric listed below, under to Tab, Rubric for Information Literacy Assignment. The Rubric states clearly exactly what you are to do the number of points assigned to each part of the assignment. The assignment should be no more than one (1) typewritten page, double spaced, using Times New Roman Font # 12. The assignment must be presented in class on November 15, 2016. Assignments submit late will be reduced by 10% for each day after the deadline of November 16, 2016. The total value of the assignment is 5% which will be added to your Final Grade at the end of the term.
