Yes. This is provided in the Division 1 of medical practice generally where the medical practitioner is entitled to explain to the patient or the patient’s representative any alternative treatment or courses of action that might be reasonably considered in the circumstances of the particular case but is allowed to make the best professional decision to the best of his/her knowledge (s15 (c)).
