If you were to create a psychological experiment/study, what would you be interested in researching? Think of some questions that you could possibly expand into a research hypothesis.
Ex: Depression. How do people recognize depression? What are the best therapies for depression? If someone is depressed once, will they become depressed again?
Possible hypothesis: A person who engages in Psychotherapy is less likely to have continuous bouts of depression.
1-) Write a 1 paragraph response to a question above. and give an Example. This entry cannot simply be definitions of terms, but rather, your personal thoughts, feelings and reactions to that Professor.
Then, students must reply to two of their peer’s entries. In these replies, students must show that they have read and thought about that other persons response (Examples can be found on the attachment ).

1-) I would like to response to my peer (( SARA )) she said: (( A psychological study experiment/study that I would be interested in researching would be how the mind of a murderer works. I would like to find out what makes people want to take a life from another person. Does something just snap inside of them or are they mentaly unstable and see killing as a hobby? Questions I would ask would include: At what point did you decide that murder was the best way to fix your problem? Have you previously thought about killing, perhaps at an earlier age? Did a tramatic event happen in your life? I believe that questions like these will help me to understand what is going on in their minds and what drove them to do this illegal activity. My hypothesis for this study would be: People aren’t raised to be murders; something happens in their live that flips a switch in their brain that drives them towards murder and they trick themselves into believing that killing is the best option. I know that many psychologists have done this study but I think that it would interesting to experience the answers to these questions first hand.))
2-) I would like to response to my peer (( ABBY )) she said: (( If i were to create a psychological experiment i would be interested in researching what makes someone so academically smart. Does the amount of studying you do reflect your ability? Does how you were rasied as a child effect your intelligence? Were certain people born with such advantages? Are you able to adapt to being natually smart? Does sleep affect intelligence?
A possible Hypothesis for this experiment could be: A person who gets a sufficient amount of sleep each night and studies effectively are more likely to produce better grades and be more intelligent in the classroom. ))
