There are two readings from two different historians, and the assignment is to write a message from one historian to the other assessing and critiquing his argument. The topic is based on US expansion into Hawaii, the Philippines and the Caribbean.

To access the readings, go on HOLLIS (google HOLLIS and click result). Once in HOLLIS search for Colonial Crucible. There is a view online option. The chapters of the readings are from Old empire to new and Transnational history.

The assignment is to write a message to one of the historians in the reading in the voice of the other historian assessing and critiquing his argument. The only sources to be used are the readings.
