Retrieved from http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2012/07/15/156808427/red-cross-declares-civil-war-in-syria This article will be used to address the (7) Major Historical Event: Human Impact category/topic for my hashtag activism digital story. In July 2012, the Red Cross announced that the level of violence in Syria was to be categorized as a civil war. The importance of this announcement is that international humanitarian law has been enacted throughout the region and applied to everyone including governmental and rebel forces. NPR, who published the article, is a trusted news outlet; and the article points to several other sources to support its claims. This indicates that the information is accurate. While the article was published four years ago on the NPR website, which may make it seem dated, it is important to note that this is the time when the described events were taking place in Syria, and the violence impacting the people in that region continues today. ——————————————————— CREATING AN APA ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY (6th edition) – RESOURCES: Creating an Annotated Bibliography (with samples) by Trinity University’s Coates Library; http://lib.trinity.edu/lib2/annot_bib.php (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
