Critiques should be finished before in-class workshop: Tuesday, September 21, then emailed to your group members immediately after workshop and uploaded to dropbox
Final draft due: Thursday, September 23, beginning of class time
Read chapter two of They Say/I Say, then following the advice in that chapter, summarize thoroughly the the information Manno offers in his essay. “Enter the conversation” by offering your opinion on Manno’s essay (the templates in your text will prove useful). You may agree, disagree, or agree and disagree with any of his viewpoints. Your essay should have an introduction, body, and conclusion. Organize the essay any way you want: summary then opinion, or blend your opinion with the summary—it’s up to you.
Criteria for evaluating your essay:
–Did you fully summarize the essay by Manno?
–Is your response/position clear?
–Are paragraphs adequately developed?
–Does the essay contain basic errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling?
–Is your argument balanced in terms of logos, ethos, and pathos?
