Drug Use and Abuse in Adolescences

Introduction

A survey conducted in the U.S in 2010 found that 36% of adolescents by 8^th grade have taken alcohol at some point their lives. This figure grows to 71% percent by the time these adolescents reach 12^th grade. With regard to other illegal drugs, studies show that approximately 21% of adolescents in America have taken some type of illegal substances by the time they reach 8^th grade (Liddle 52).
