Case
Analysis Assignment Directions
Please
employ the following guidelines when preparing your case assignments:
1.
Please, make sure you organize your reports in
a numerical order that corresponds to the provided case questions. It sounds sophomoric
but it is hard to read cases that meander around the general topics, especially
when there are many cases to review and the goal is to provide the best grade
possible to each student.
2.
It is appreciated that many students provide
some additional research on the topic but it is not necessary for the case
assignments. The key to these exercises is that we want to provide each student
with real life company experiences so that you can build your own skills off a
known model. This will sharpen your analytical and written communication skills
– all critical to being successful in today’s business environment.
3.
Many times, it is apparent you probably
started the case just hours before the midnight deadline, which is fine, but
not the most productive way to address the assignment. May we suggest that you
start on Friday and work on it for a few hours to get your thoughts organized
and then come back a bit on Saturday to complete it. Sunday then is a short
review period to ensure that the material and solutions work well together –
now you are done.
4.
The length of the case analysis will depend on
each student’s writing style. Some chose to use complex sentence structures
while, others prefer to use short and a more direct approach to expressing
their thoughts. Either approach is fine but just remain consistent, answer all
of the questions thoroughly and succinctly, and use good grammatical formats,
etc. Lastly, the usual average number of pages for a well written case analysis
will usually number somewhere around 3 to 7 pages.
If you
have any further questions on this topic, please contact your lecturer for
additional information and guidance.

Final Presentation Guidelines:
Here
are some helpful hints to attaining the highest grade possible for the Final
BSG Presentation:
1.
Follow the order of the slides and do not take
them out of sequence. Teams that do usually miss a slide or two and it reduces
the final grade and the quality of the presentation.
2.
Place as much information on the slides as you
feel comfortable with to explain the outcomes, assumptions, and/or philosophy
of the team.
3.
You can use color and or other techniques to
add value to your final product but it is not necessary. It has been my
experience though that it does seem to add vitality to the content and the
enthusiasm to the team’s work.
4.
Most of all DO NOT forget or skip a slide
because that will definitely reduce the team’s final evaluation.
