CCS Points to note for the hand in of CCS Mini block 3

  1. The theme you have chosen should be stated on the title page. It MUST be immediately apparent what theme has been selected and that we do not have to guess what it is.
  2. Your text that accompanies your images should be in the notes section of the power point presentation. You will not be reading out your one thousand words as your presentation!  This narrative like any essay should be footnoted and referenced; this can be done in the notes section of the power point presentation too.

Dunn and Raby discuss that every critical design must be launch in a public forum so they have ownership at the point of public departure.  (1)  This launch of the tangible outcome is a key element in the definition of Critical Design and no Critical Design is complete without it. (2)

  1. Remember you are expected to introduce your theme, your issue, how you predict this issue into the future and then how do you respond to this, via a Critical Design. Remember the Critical Design is you being creative,  it cannot be someone else’s thought or ideas the imagery this has to be yours.
  2. As stated in the Brief’ Critical Design can only be complete if there is a tangible and public launch of the Critical Design. Therefore remember on Thursday you will be giving presentations on your Critical Design.  We start at 11am in your Seminar groups in your seminar rooms.   If you do not give a presentation then you will be penalised in your final grade for this mini block.

Final Hand-in

Your final hand-in will be via Turnitin. You must submit a PDF of your powerpoint/keynote presentation with both the slides and the notes visible. To do this, follow these instructions:

Powerpoint:

Click “Save As” and select “PDF” from the drop-down menu. Select the “Options” button and click the “Publish What” pull-down menu, then select “Notes Pages”.

Keynote:

Click “file/Export to/PDF” and make sure the box titled “include presenter notes” is ticked.

IMPORTANT: The maximum file size for Turnitin is 20mb. If your submission exceeds this, it is likely that the images you have used are too large. To correct this follow the steps at these links:
