Lisa is an employed 45 year mother of 2 children Jaden and Louise aged 10 and 5 years respectively. Lisa was until recently employed part-time as a Sales Assistant but lost her job
one month ago. Lisa has a history of schizophrenia and sexual abuse, she is managed through her General Practitioner on 20mg Olanzapine but recently there has been a decline in her social
functioning. Lisa’s parents who have been quite supportive of her contacted the local psychiatric triage service concerned about her mental state. She was admitted to the mental health inpatient
unit for relapse of psychotic symptoms due to possible non-adherence to medication as a compulsory patient under the Victorian Mental Health Act [2014].
Details of the Task:
Discuss evidence based mental health nursing care/management for Lisa within a recovery oriented framework while she receives treatment on the in-patient unit and community setting.
