The format of your Business Project Dissertation

  1. The Maximum words count is 8000 words – excluding references and appendices but including tables
  2. You may include figures and tables in the body of the text.
  3. The cover sheet should include:
    1. The title of your business project,
    2. The module name,
    3. The name of your supervisor,
    4. Your student number and
    5. The total word count.

Please do not use artwork.

  1. The second page should include an abstract in which you summarize the key points from your business project. (200 words)
  2. The third page should be a contents page, with major sections of the project listed and relevant page numbers given.
  3. The project should start on the fourth page with the Introduction.
  4. Please use a clear heading format.
  5. All references in the text should be included in the reference list at the end of the report in the UWE Bristol Harvard style. This should be in alphabetical order.
  6. All pages must be numbered and show your student number.
  7. The assignment should be proof-read and spell-checked in UK English. It should be word-processed.
  8. The project report should be submitted as a Word file. .doc or .docx via Blackboard.

 

The Suggested layout is:

  • Title Page: Title, module, date, student number and declaration
  • Abstract: A brief overview of the objectives, findings and conclusions of the project (max. 200 words)
  • Contents page
  • Introduction including aims and objectives
  • Literature review
  • Methodology
  • Findings/Results/Discussion:: Present your research Data and analyse it using the methodology that you have chosen. Relating your findings/results to the previous research that you have outlined in your Literature Review and giving the answers to your Research Question(s)
  • Conclusions: Draw conclusions from your answers and make suggestions for future research
  • List of references

Appendices: To include evidence of your supervisor meetings, your ethics form if you have undertaken Primary Research, and any other data, tables and figures that you have referred to in your text but not included there
